Foods 4U

Foods 4U was established as a limited liability corporation on May 7, 2002 in Richmond, Virginia by its founder, Alice M. Freeman to serve as a general co-operative owned by its members. Foods 4U follows the principles of cooperation as adopted by the International Co-operative Alliance. These seven principles are:

• Voluntary and Open Membership
• Democratic Member Control
• Member Economic Participation
• Autonomy and Independence
• Education, Training and Information
• Co-operation among Co-operatives
• Concern for the Community
