THIS MONTH'S NATIONAL OBSERVANCE
Diabetes is one of the leading causes of disability and death in the United States. It can cause blindness, nerve damage, kidney disease, and other health problems if it’s not controlled.

The good news? People who are at high risk for type 2 diabetes can lower their risk by more than half if they make healthy changes.
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Our year-end fundraising campaign will launch on November 28 (#GivingTuesday) and go through December 31.
Following are some suggestions to celebrate this season of giving:

-
Give to someone in need.
-
Volunteer at a local nonprofit.
-
Donate $25 to Nia in celebration of 25 years of service to the Greater Richmond community.
-
Select Nia as your favorite charity when you shop at Amazon.
-
Find a way to give back to your community and then share what you did.
