Our name, pronounced "Nee AH",
means 'purpose' in Swahili.
Our mission is to empower people to help themselves and others achieve wellness through awareness, education, support and advocacy.
"Nia's vision for Greater Richmond is that EVERYONE will be well and prosper."
Patrice Stokes, Executive Director
Nia is a Kwanzaa principle described as making our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.
Similarly, our purpose is the rebuilding of the Greater Richmond community to its God-intended greatness.
